Gather round everybody, let us tell you a little horror story we call "The Bridal Industry".
No, we're totally kidding! It's not that bad... it is pretty grim though.
Traditional bridal is a place where
😮 Sample sizes are absolutely tiny.
😒 Curvy women are constantly excluded (magazines, photoshoots, catwalks, the list goes on).
🫠 Or are included in a performative 'woke-washing' sort of way.
😩 Brides are left feeling anxious before appointments.
😵 Curvy dresses are often designed on a size 6-8 and simply sized up.
😖 Curvy brides are left being told what they "should" wear.
🙄 Which doesn't matter anyway because styles are so limited.
😡 And designers don't really care about truly understanding curves, they just want to capitalise on the recent body positivity and fat acceptance movements to make a bit of extra cash from curvy brides.
Told you it was pretty grim, didn't I?

SO WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO ABOUT IT?
Well, I'm glad you asked!
Too many brides are walking into bridal shops already preparing themselves to feel uncomfortable. They expect tiny sample dresses, awkward conversations and limited options. They expect to be told they should hide instead of feeling like they're getting ready to celebrate the happiest day of their lives.
When Ellie got engaged, she said she didn't mind where she went to look for a dress - as long as we could park close enough to the door so she could run out in tears if she needed to.

That's when Wendy decided to open the boutique.
So no bride ever has to feel that way just because of the size of their body. A place where confidence flows freely and no one feels like they have to compromise.

🩷 We'd never suggest you need to hide, shrink or apologise for any part of your body.
🙌 We won't let anybody tear you down (including that little voice in your head)
🔥 But we will create space for honest conversations. We know body positivity isn't always straightforward, and you are accepted here regardless of how you feel when you walk in.
🍑 We'll encourage you to step outside of your comfort zone (gently!), and try on different styles, silhouettes, colours - until you find what you feel incredible in.
👏 We'll laugh a lot, we'll celebrate and twirl, and we might get a little bit emotional with you along the way.
💪 Because at the end of the day, this isn't just about finding a dress. It's about celebrating your love story, and the person you are right now.
