From Estate Agent to #curvybridalboutique

After deciding to open a bridal boutique the next thing was to look for a location for the shop. There were a couple of empty premises in my local village, and the former Burrows Estate Agent was the most suitable. Located on the High Street, on a prominent corner with plenty of space inside, it was ideal. The lease was negotiated and agreed, we took over the premises on December 1st. #scary #newbusiness. Then came the refurbishment.

#RedcarandClevelandCouncil were offering a grant for #bringyourbusinesstothehighstreet , I got in touch with them and was amazed with how much they support new businesses, not only with the grant but with help writing a business plan and projected costings and putting us through various training courses about #runningyourownbusiness.

Now to transform the property from this -

Though This-

To This -

We used employed #JT'sMultiPanel of Boosbeck to do the joinery work inside the property, They built the #weddingdress hanging space, fitted and panelled the changing room. the painting was done by #AlanWoodallPaintinganddecorating of Boosbeck, the colour we went for in the shop was grey however in a certain light it looks lilac/purple!! We like it though. In the dressing room we chose pink.

We decided to laminate the main shop area and carpet the Dressing room, #Hendersonscarpetsandflooring did this for us.

The signage was done by, #TerryDaunceysignwriting of Skelton. He did the above shop sign, the roundels on the door and in the Dressing Room, the laurel leaves on the windows and he also created, supplied and fitted the #crownwallpaper in the Dressing Room.

We decided on the name The Silver Sixpence Curvy Bridal Boutique.

This comes from the ryhme;-

Something old. something new

something borrowed, something blue

and a lucky silver sixpence in her shoe

And #thesilversixpencecurvybridalboutique was born

After all the work was complete we then had to furnish the Shop to make it feel more like a #boutique. We think it looks amazing, what do you think?

The #OpenDay was on Saturday February 15th, it was cold, windy and it rained!! However we still had people coming to see us and see what we had done and to wish us well, we even sold a #WeddingDress !!
